thank you for you offer! Your contributions will be welcome. You are right, AMOS is a local plugin for Moodle 2.x and is not part of standard Moodle package (although I am just porting some its parts into the language customization tool).
Source code is avaiable at http://github.com/mudrd8mz/moodle-amos - the easiest way to contribute to AMOS is to create a fork there and send me pull requests. github tools are very good in supporting this "social coding" processes. The site also contains nice documentation and tutorials on using git, if you have not started with this source code management system yet.
