So at the moment, the name of the author is recorded, rather then the name of the maintainer who did the commit?
Not yet. The name of the contributor is pre-loaded into the commit message but the maintainer is still the one who is recorded as the "committer". But this is a step towards it. In the future, AMOS will have both author and committer field, like Git has.
