User tours for Moodle 3.0 and 3.1 can be translated

Hi,

The User tours additional plugin for Moodle 3.0 and 3.1 looks like a  very promising plugin, likely to be included in Moodle 3.2 core.

The tours themselves can not be translated in AMOS.

I just made an illustrated step-by-step how-to documentation page about how to translate these tours at https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Translating_User_tours_from_Moodle.net .  Please feel free to add or correct it as necessary.

The translated tours can be easily submitted to the Moodle user tours database.

There are already quite a few English language tours and some French and Spanish translations there naeratus

I guess that as soon as there are a few more translations available for (for example) the Dashboard, someone will be able to submit a multi-language enabled and configured user tour, that I think will be a very useful addition to many Moodle sites serving several languages simultaneously.

I would like to know what the other Moodle translators think about this new feature.

Hi Mary,

Would it be too much for me to ask if you could have a look at the available English, French, German and Spanish language user tours for the Dashbard 3.1 (https://moodle.net/mod/data/view.php?d=2&perpage=50&search=Dashboard&sort=0&order=ASC&advanced=0&filter=1&f_15=&f_16=&f_17=&f_18=&f_19=&f_20=&u_fn=&u_ln= ) and produce a working multi-language user tool ?

Or else, can you think of someone who could do this?

Hello German and others. I added an English/French user tour (with the help of Karen Holland) so you can try it with the multilang filter. It's here https://moodle.net/mod/data/view.php?d=2&rid=269

Please let me know if you find any issues with it because these user tours are very new to me as well naeratus

Hi Mary,

Thanks for uploading an English/French bilingual Dashboard tour.

Seeing how it works, it was fairly easy for me to add a Mexican Spanish translation and upload a tri-lingual Dashboard User Tour (https://moodle.net/mod/data/view.php?d=2&rid=297 ) . It seems to be working OK as far as I tested it.

Maybe Koen/David/Mateo/... would like to own his own language too...
