After login, site news says I don't have the permission to read it. But I can read after logout. Does this problem affect me only?

I have the very same problem; for the same reason, subscribing to the forum doesn't work either..複雜

Hi,

I've just set the default front page role to 'Authenticated user on front page'. Please let me know if this resolves the problem.

Subscribing to the forums in this Translating Moodle course still does not work. Does it depend on the role I have in this course, I just enrolled, but I am not a language maintainer. Helen, can you help?

I've just checked the list of subscribers to this forum and found you listed. When you say that subscribing doesn't work, I assume you mean that you are not receiving emails of forum posts, right? (Hope you somehow see this post!)

Does anyone else have this problem? I can't see how it would depend upon your role in the course, however there are quite a lot of bugs in Moodle 2.0 awaiting fixing. Wink

same here. Subscribed, profile settings corect, but not getting mails. I've seen this phenomen several times in 1.9 if the mail settings in forums are changed, subscription mode is confused about this.

Hmm, I don't know what is going on here, as the mail settings in forums haven't been changed.

David is planning to upgrade this site to the latest version of 2.0 soon, so let's hope the problem will be fixed then. If not, we can investigate further.

I get mails from this forum, because I posted a discussion post (and I guess the forum setting / user profile setting is "subscribe me to this forum when I post something")

But this is not the case for the other forum in this course "Notification of string changes" - here I cannot post (in order to subscribe) and there is no link "subscribe me to this forum" as it usually is in forums where users can choose to subscribe or not.

Maybe you can check the forum settings?

just visit the forum and there should be link in the Settings block to subscribe. Please let me know if it works for you.

Okay this works for me! I can see the link and can subscribe to the forum. My fault: I was expecting a link in the upper right of a forum page as it was previously. I have not got used to the new settings block yet 眨眼
