Hi!
I would like to announce that we plan to get rid of all 1.9 strings registered in the AMOS repository. There are several reasons for that:
- These strings are for read-only access. Strings for Moodle 1.x can't be edited using AMOS. So all these strings just occupy valuable space in the database which makes certain operations (like the index update) a bit slower.
- Our old CVS servers that hold the 1.x translations will be shut down in January.
- AMOS itself does not need these strings - relevant ZIP packages are generated from the original repository.
However, I would like to hear your eventual objections. Is there anybody out there referring to 1.9 string registered in AMOS in a way that would persuade me that they are really needed here? If so, can you describe how and why you need 1.9 strings in AMOS? Thanks for you comments!
