Hi David,

I think I found a typo, but I can not use AMOS for it,  as English fixes are only allowed for standard plugins only حزين

The string 2.6 [downloadviagitcvs,local_moodleorg]:

is outdated, as "http://docs.moodle.org/22/en/CVS_for_Administrators" clearly states that "Note: The CVS servers have now been shut down. Please use our Git repository.".

Therefore, I suggest for the string 2.6 [downloadviagitcvs,local_moodleorg]:

thanks for spotting and reporting this. We will check that. Chances are that this string is not to be used at the new site as we are often redirecting to docs and/or other sites instead of copying the same info at moodle.org directly. That might explain why we did not spot this during the tests.

Hi David,

The new moodle.org frontpage looks great. Congratulations to all who have been working on it مبتسم.

Yesterday I translated all the strings in AMOS for my language pack. Some hours later I discovered some typos and some translated strings that were out of context. I promptly made the changes in AMOS, but the changes have not been updated in moodle.org 16 hours later.

Do you know how often will the moodle.org site update the installed language packs ?

Will it be handled by a human admin (who must I e-mail to request a language pack update?) or a cron job ?

Also, which is the best place to post the broken links and hard-wired strings of the frontpage? Right here or in the languages forum?

For example, in the bottom of the page, the link to 'About' in 'THE MOODLE PROJECT' produces a 404 ERROR.

I think that link should be a string 'http://docs.moodle.org/26/en/About_Moodle' , that we can change in AMOS for each language pack (5 translations currently available).

I have just updated the language packs on moodle.org and will do so daily for the next week or so. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like it done more often.

Hopefully any broken links are fixed now. If you notice any other problems anywhere on moodle.org, please

EITHER browse all the subtasks of MDLSITE-1862 and MDLSITE-1874 and make sure the problem you have noticed is mentioned somewhere, creating a new issue if necessary.

OR mention the problem in a forum discussion, perhaps attaching a screenshot of it. The Moodle community sites forum is a good place for such discussions, or here, if it's a translation issue.

Regarding links to documentation pages, we will adding these as language pack strings so that translators can specify links to documentation in other languages (as part of MDLSITE-2723). However, please note that for consistency, the top bar (black) and footer (orange and dark grey) is intended to be the same in every language i.e. nothing translated.

Regarding the documentation page About Moodle, this has recently been completely rewritten by Martin D himself; you may wish to update the Spanish version of the page accordingly. غمزة

Thanks for your prompt response and the tips غمزة.

I have updated the Documentation for the spanish translation of the 'About Moodle' page.

Martin's recent additions to the 'About Moodle' page have certainly illustrated Moodle virtues very clearly مبتسم. Maybe a few links for some of the major individual features mentioned there might be nice (eg: replace 'forums, wikis, chats and blogs' for  '[[Forums]], [[Wikis]], [[Chats]] and [[Blogs]]' ) .|

Maybe you could consider sending a Moodle message (and/or a regular E-mail) to all AMOS translators, to invite them to prioritize the translation of the local_moodleorg strings at AMOS.

I wrote a comment at https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDLSITE-2723#comment-267411 about a couple of minor suggestions for the moodle.org frontpage.

So far, the new frontpage looks great.
