I may be 100% wrong, but  have a funny feeling that something has changed in Moodle 3.4dev about the way Moodle HQ programmers can write Internet addresses inside English language strings. Particularly:

registermoodlenet | core_admin

...

* Optionally,... on the [list of registered sites](https://moodle.net/stats).

Where I can/should/must translate into my-language-pack-language  'list of registered sites' .  This was strange for me, as this text is [inside single square brackets].

And, when shown to the user, the part of '(https://moodle.net/stats)' is not shown, but that part was the actual internet address used by the link.

The syntax formerly used and shown in https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Translation_FAQ#Local_addresses_after_.3Ca_href.3D.22...2F is no longer used.

Am I imagining? , or has something changed about how Moodle HQ programmers will be writing internet addresses ?

The two Internet addresses used in the mentioned String are for Moodle HQ information in English only (https://download.moodle.org/mobile/ and https://moodle.net/stats/), not available for translation in Moodle Docs.

Hi German,

As far as I know, nothing has changed with regard to how to write links in language strings. Have you come across any other examples?

I chatted with Marina (who wrote the string) and she said to create a tracker issue for changing the syntax. Here it is: MDL-60575.
